Step 1: Open Google Sheets and click on the Format button (this is the paint roller one)
Step 2: Click on “data validation” to open up this window. Do not hit the next step until you are at this window!
Step 3: Click on “data validation” to see this dropdown list choice.
Step 4: In the “criteria” section, click on “cell value is equal to…” Then type this in as shown below.
*Note: one of my cells was named ’18’ so I had to change it from ‘integer’ to ‘rank’. Yours might be different!*
Step 5: Now, click on “OK” and you have successfully added a drop-down list to your sheet!
Step 6: Now it is time to test your dropdown list. If everything works out as planned the option that you selected in step 4 will appear when you choose something from the list below. In this case, I chose ’18’ and the dropdown list automatically selected ‘Ishant Sharma’ in cell B22.
